Melanio Oliva is a name that goes all the way back to 1880s Cuba. His sons later moved the family's cigar operation out of Communist Cuba and eventually settled in Nicaragua. Oliva is currently the second largest grower of Cuban seed tobacco in that country. The Oliva brand, though, didn't really take off until the 1990s, but have since produced a variety of lines that not only have been well received but have also received very high ratings from Cigar Aficionado. Oliva started their cigar manufacturing with the Flor de Oliva line. They are available in a choice of 4 different blend or wrapper variants: Flor de Oliva Naturals, Corojos, Gold and Maduro.

Oliva Connecticut Reserves are designed for smokers who appreciate a milder cigar. Smokers that appreciate cigars from Ashton, Arturo Fuente, and Diamond Crown should give this line a try, it is a great introduction to the Nicaraguan flavor without all the strength.

Oliva created the Master Blends 3 (III) line of cigars, occasionally referred to as the "Liga Maestra" blend, as a limited artisanal blend specifically made to bring out the finest and richest characteristics of ligero fillers and broadleaf sun-grown wrappers from Nicaragua. There's no doubt that this is one of the most complex cigars made by Oliva.

The Oliva Serie O was rated a 92 by Cigar Aficionado and they even awarded it the Best Cigar of the Year for 2005 . All of the tobaccos in the Oliva Serie O were grown in different regions of northern Nicaragua and aged for five years. There are two variants, the sun-grown Habano wrapped and the maduro wrapped.

The Oliva Serie G cigars is considered to be one of the best bang for the buck sticks on the market. Available in a choice of African Cameroon or Connecticut broadleaf Maduro, the Serie G have been placed in the 25 Best Cigars of 2006 by Cigar Aficionado.

The Oliva Serie V line of cigars has fast become one of the most popular lines of cigars on the face of the planet since it's 2007 Serie V Torpedo rating of 94 by Cigar Aficionado!

The Oliva Nub cigar is the latest release by Oliva and are "nub" like cigars - short and sweet! These cigars come in three wrappers and various sizes.

The Oliva Special S is truly unique because the wrapper is aged for 5 years in cedar crates. However, this line has been discontinued. We may have some, or be able to order some remainders; however, stock is in no way guaranteed.
