Cuesta Rey cigars were founded in 1884 by Angel LaMadrid Cuesta. After first apprenticing as a cigar maker for a couple of years, he opened his first cigar factory in Tampa, Florida. The Cuesta Rey cigar company was one of the largest in the United States for quite some time.
