Gran Habano
Gran Habano cigars were created in 2003 by Guillermo Rico and his son George at their factory in Danli, Honduras. Starting in 1996, the Ricos began by producing cigars for private labels such as Alec Bradley before embarking on their own brands. Their blends are based on tobaccos grown from Habano and Corojo seeds grown on their own farms in Panama, Columbia, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. All of their cigars are bunched using the traditional “entubar” method and are finished with triple caps. The first three blends were introduced in 2003 - the Connecticut #1, Habano #3 and Corojo #5, followed in 2006 by The Tres Siglos ("Three Centuries"), blend which uses a combination of ligeros from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Columbia in its filler, with a Nicaraguan Habano leaf binder and capped with a Nicaraguan Corojo Shade Grown wrapper.
