Zino Davidoff was born to Russian immigrants who came to Switzerland in 1911 where they opened up a tobacco shop Zino Davidoff's father showed him how to make blends of tobacco suitable for pipes and cigarettes, and at the age of 18, Zino Davidoff moved to South America, where he dedicated himself to learning about tobacco. On his return to Switzerland in 1929, Zino opened a cigar department in the family's tobacco shop, and he built Europe's first cigar cellar. With his passion and extensive knowledge about tobacco, Zino was propelled to worldwide fame, launching a very successful cigar company.
