Davidoff to Hold Auction for Hurricane Relief

When Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast it destroyed everything in its path. Affected areas could use all the help they can get right now so we were happy to hear that Davidoff plans to hold a live auction in order to raise money for relief efforts. The auction will take place tonight at the Davidoff Cigar Shop on Madison Avenue in New York City. The auction is open to the public and one of the items being auctioned off this evening is a rare S.T. Dupont Lighter.

The S.T. Dupont Renaissance Ligne 2 lighter is a one-of-a-kind piece with an estimated retail value of $7,900. This unique lighter was carved from a piece of solid brass by French engraver Frederic Krill. Krill spent 85 hours on the intricate leaf and floral designs that adorn this beautiful piece of art. The lighter is a collector’s item and the winner of the auction will be one happy cigar enthusiast.

“S.T. Dupont conceived the idea,” said general manager Luis Torres. “Since the Davidoff of Geneva flagship store on Madison Avenue is the only S.T. Dupont ‘shop-in-shop’ in the United States and the biggest seller of Dupont in the country, they thought it made sense to have this nice event with us.”

All proceeds from this special charity auction will be donated to the Hurricane Sandy fund that is assisting victims of the storm.
