Humidity CrystalsThese humidor crystals are marvels of the cigar industry. If put in your humidor, they will release moisture if the humidity is less than 70% and absorb moisture if the humidity is greater than 75-80%. This keeps your cigars in a perfect environment with very little maintenance by you - leaving you more time to smoke your cigars and less time worrying about the health of them in the humidor. These are a great thing to have in your humidor. No more worrying about if you need to add water to those silly little sponges that come with your humidor, these little jars will take care of that for you. One of these should keep a well-kept humidor of 100 cigars in perfect humidity. If you want to be extra safe though, I'd pick up two. There's also another beneficial side-effect of having these in your humidor. Occasionally, some cigars imported carry tobacco beatles. These beatles can infest your cigars and eat them. But, if you have a HumiCrystal jar in your humidor, the beatles will follow the moisture, fall into the jars, and drown! So it's geat for keeping beatles out of your cigars!
These Humidor Crystals can sometimes lose their moisture if put in a humidor that's too large or an unprimed humidor (or a number of other various reasons). If they do lose their moisture don't worry! You can simply add more distilled water and watch the crystals soak it up! It's really amazing! They can hold a lot of water and keep your humidor perfectly tuned. Warning: Use distilled water only! Unfiiltered water will cause the crystals to turn brown and not function properly. |
