July 2, 2013 (Miami, Fla.) — Oliva Viejo Mundo, the first machine-made cigar from the Oliva Cigar Company, will be introduced this month in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Switzerland. Future plans include an introduction in the United Kingdom in October and the United States in 2014. The Viejo Mundo is a full flavor cigar for the smoker who appreciates a rich premium tasting cigar at a machine- made price.

The Viejo Mundo is produced using a century old format popular in Europe that in the past used Indonesian tobacco. What makes the Viejo Mundo unique from other machine-made cigars is that it will be made exclusively with Oliva first quality tobacco; Nicaraguan binder and filler and a Cameroon wrapper. The cigars will be produced in the Notebaert factory in Ieper Belgium and will be available in three sizes; Cigarillo, Senorita, and Corona. The cigars will be available in both wood boxes and regular packs:

  • Cigarillo: Wood boxes of 50, packs of 20.
  • Senorita: Wood boxes of 25, packs of 10
  • Corona: Wood boxes of 25, packs of 10.

“We are very excited about the introduction of Viejo Mundo” stated Brian Shapiro, Vice President of International Sales at Oliva Cigars. “This is a welcome addition to the Oliva line which has been very popular in the European premium market. The Viejo Mundo is a new standard in machine-made cigars and we look forward to introducing it in additional markets throughout the cigar world.
